Depending on your child’s age and your family’s circumstances, you may be eligible for:
15 funded hours for all children aged 3 and 4, from the term after their third birthday.
15 funded hours for eligible two-year-olds, where families meet the relevant eligibility criteria.
Up to 30 funded hours for eligible working parents of children aged 9 months to 4 years.
Funded hours are normally available for 38 weeks of the year. Please speak to us if you would like to discuss how these hours can be used across the year.
For the working-parent entitlement, apply through your Government Childcare Account. If approved, you will receive an eligibility code, which you must provide to Apple Trees.
You will need to reconfirm your eligibility through your Childcare Account every three months.
For two-year-old funding, eligibility depends on your family’s circumstances. You can check this with Hertfordshire County Council or through GOV.UK.
Government funding covers the funded childcare hours. Meals, additional hours and optional extras may carry an additional charge. Please see our Prices page or speak to the team for a full breakdown.
To support families using funded childcare, Apple Trees Plus is charged at:
30 funded hours: £55 per week
15 funded hours: £27.50 per week
Additional hours: £9.90 per hour

Government funding states that every child is entitled to 15 hours of free childcare from the term following their 3rd birthday. If you choose Apple Trees your child will spend their 15 hours in our Ladybird room. Click here to see all the facilities that will be available to them.
Some children will also qualify for 30 hours free funding from September 2017. This funding is for children who have working parents from the term following their 3rd birthday. To find out if you qualify for this funding please follow this link. Apple Trees offers 30 hours funding but spaces are limited due to such high demand. If you would like to enquire about taking a place please do not hesitate in contacting us.
Some children also qualify for FREE 2yr old funding. Click here for more details. If your child qualifies you can claim your funding at Apple Trees Child Care and your child will spend their 15 hours in our Snail Room before moving on to our Ladybird Room for pre-school.
We have a number of children in our setting that take advantage of this funding. These are not just children whose parents are out at work. Even if you do not work it is of huge benefit to your child to take advantage of the FREE government funding. It allows the children to make friends, become independent and develop their skills. It also allows you some free time to get those odd jobs done!

We offer the same learning and preparation for school as most pre-schools, however, we can also offer you flexible hours. Our setting is open from 7.30am – 6.00pm Monday – Friday so you can choose the 15 hours that benefit you and your child.
